Premarital Counseling in Pinellas Park
The best time to build a strong marriage is before the wedding. Premarital counseling gives you and your partner time to talk honestly about the things that matter most, discover your strengths, and build skills you'll use for the rest of your life together. At The Hope Center for Healing and Health, engaged and newly married couples meet with Pamela Wiggins, MA, LMHC, in person in Pinellas Park, near St. Petersburg, Largo, Seminole and Clearwater, or by secure telehealth anywhere in Florida.
Why premarital counseling?
Every couple faces conflict at some point. While your relationship is young, learning how to communicate and handle disagreements well can keep everyday pressures from turning into lasting damage. Couples also find it helpful to talk through expectations they may never have said out loud.

Our approach
Premarital work draws on research about what helps marriages last, including the work of Drs. John and Julie Gottman. Sessions are practical and conversational: you'll learn tools, practice them together, and leave with a shared picture of the marriage you want to build. Couples who come from a faith background are welcome to bring that into the conversation.
What to expect
Premarital counseling usually runs over several 60-minute sessions, planned around your timeline and wedding date. Couples sessions are $200 per session, private pay, and you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate.
Frequently asked questions
We're not having problems. Do we still need this?
Premarital counseling isn't about fixing problems. It's about preparing, so you have the skills ready when challenges come.

Yes, as long as you're both located in Florida during the session.
How soon should we start?
A few months before the wedding is ideal, but it's never too late, even after you're married.
