Couples and Family Counseling in Pinellas Park
Every relationship goes through hard seasons. Maybe you keep having the same argument, trust has been broken, you feel more like roommates than partners, or a big change has put stress on the whole family. Counseling gives you a calm, structured place to slow down, understand each other and try something different. At The Hope Center for Healing and Health, couples and families work with Pamela Wiggins, MA, LMHC, in person in Pinellas Park, near St. Petersburg, Largo, Seminole and Clearwater, or by secure telehealth anywhere in Florida.
What we help with
- Communication breakdowns and recurring conflict
- Rebuilding trust after betrayal or broken promises
- Emotional distance and loss of connection
- Parenting stress and blended-family challenges
- Life transitions: a new baby, job loss, moves, illness or an empty nest
- The impact of addiction or mental health struggles on the family
Our approach
Our couples work is grounded in the research of Drs. John and Julie Gottman, which shows what healthy, lasting relationships do differently. Together we look at your relationship's strengths, the patterns that pull you apart, and practical skills for:
- Talking about hard topics without escalating
- Repairing after arguments
- Turning toward each other and rebuilding friendship and intimacy
- Understanding each other's needs, expectations and love languages
- Creating shared goals and meaning as a couple or family
Couples who want a structured path can join our Reconstruction Curriculum, a step-by-step program for rebuilding a relationship, with a companion workbook in our Between Sessions app.
What to expect
The first session is a 60-minute intake where we hear from each person about what's working, what isn't and what you hope will change. Ongoing sessions are 60 minutes. Couples sessions are $200 per session, private pay, and you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate.
Frequently asked questions
What if only one of us wants to come?
That's common. One partner can start on their own, and changes one person makes often shift the whole relationship.
Can we do couples counseling by telehealth?
Yes, as long as you're both located in Florida during the session.
Is it too late for us?
Many couples wait years before reaching out. It's rarely too late to learn new ways of relating, and counseling can also help you decide what's next.
