Outpatient Substance Use Counseling in Pinellas Park
At The Hope Center for Healing and Health, adults struggling with alcohol or drug use work one on one with Pamela Wiggins, MA, LMHC, who brings more than 30 years of experience in substance use and mental health counseling. Care is outpatient, so you can keep working and living at home while you get help. Sessions are in person at our Pinellas Park office, convenient to St. Petersburg, Largo, Seminole and Clearwater, or by secure telehealth anywhere in Florida.
Our approach
Emotions and behaviors are intertwined with substance use, along with the people, places and situations involved. Counseling gives you a safe space to explore what's driving your use and build practical skills for handling the people, events and settings tied to it.
Our client-centered style helps you explore and resolve mixed feelings about change. Our empathic yet direct approach gives honest feedback meant to strengthen your own commitment to change. Your treatment plan is built around your goals and may include:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Motivational interviewing
- Relapse prevention planning
- Help with co-occurring concerns such as depression, anxiety and trauma
- Family sessions, when they would help your recovery
- Our clinical 12-Step Workbook, used alongside counseling
While in treatment, the success and strategy plan includes:
- Learning how to stop the addiction cycle
- Recognizing addictive thinking
- Identifying triggers and learning skills to stay clean
- Setting, working toward and achieving goals
- Developing self-acceptance
- Communicating effectively with family, friends and support systems
We are dedicated to helping clients achieve and maintain sobriety, improve overall well-being, and reintegrate successfully into their communities.
