Divorce Recovery Counseling in Pinellas Park

Sometimes, despite real effort, a marriage ends. Marriage counseling doesn't always prevent divorce, and one partner alone can't hold a marriage together. Whether you chose the divorce or didn't, the end of a marriage can bring grief, anger, fear, relief and confusion, often all at once. Counseling can help you get through this transition with the least possible harm to you, your family and especially your children. At The Hope Center for Healing and Health, you'll meet with Pamela Wiggins, MA, LMHC, in person in Pinellas Park, near St. Petersburg, Largo, Seminole and Clearwater, or by secure telehealth anywhere in Florida.

How divorce recovery counseling helps

  • Working through grief, anger, guilt and loss
  • Making decisions with a clearer head during separation
  • Co-parenting with less conflict and keeping children out of the middle
  • Helping children and teens adjust to two homes
  • Rebuilding confidence, routines and a sense of who you are
  • Preparing for healthy relationships in the future

Our approach

We start where you are. For some, that means getting through the first weeks of a separation. For others, it means making sense of a divorce that happened years ago but still hurts. Together we'll create a transition plan, build coping skills for stress and strong emotions, and focus on healthy next steps. Sessions can be individual, or with family members when that helps everyone move forward.

What to expect

Your first visit is a 60-minute intake about what's happening and what you need most right now. Ongoing sessions are 60 minutes. Individual sessions are $180 and couples or family sessions are $200, private pay. You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate.

Frequently asked questions

Is it too soon to start counseling?
No. Many people find support most helpful in the early days of a separation, when decisions and emotions feel overwhelming.

Can you help my children?
We can talk with you about how to support your children and whether family sessions would help.

Do you provide custody evaluations or testify in court?
No. Divorce recovery counseling is focused on your healing and your family's adjustment, not legal decisions.
